Welcome to the GROW Program Growing Roots for Our Workforce in Washington
Washington State and the nation are in the throes of an economic recession. The causes of the economic trouble are numerous and not entirely of our own doing. Nonetheless, taxpayers turn to government leaders and policymakers for solutions.
Like other citizens of our state, the business community hopes Washington’s government will take important and timely steps to address the current economic crisis. However, the business community also hopes these steps are focused on a long-term goal of creating a more competitive Washington State.
Washington has built one of America’s strongest and most diverse economies. But in a global economy, past success is no assurance of a strong and prosperous future. We know that Washington does not possess the most competitive business climate in the union. How this happened is not worth arguing, but Washington’s business community is dedicated to making sure our state can take advantage of an inevitable global recovery by being more competitive in the future.
We envision a state in which residents enjoy a very high quality of life in sustainable communities, where those seeking employment find quality jobs with good compensation, and where those who invest their capital and hard work can grow firms that flourish and are profitable.
Take a moment to view the business issues outlined on this website. These issues are important to creating a competitive, sustainable Washington state in which residents enjoy a high quality of life in sustainable communities.

The Cornerstone Initiative
Sustained economic growth is the single most powerful factor that leads to the prosperity and well being of Americans. Economic growth affects everyone - directly through job security, paychecks and health coverage, and indirectly through education, energy and tax policies.
About these Pages:
America works best when Americans vote. But the percentage of eligible voters who cast their ballots continues to decline election after election. According to a study by Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, 23 million Americans contacted an elected official over a two year period, but didn't bother to go vote! We think something needs to be done.
These pages are designed to give you the information and tools you need to make it to the polls and cast an informed vote. We've included voter registration and absentee ballot informationand forms for every state in the union, and the District of Columbia. We've included tools to locate and contact your elected officials. And, as candidates file for office and votes that matter are cast we'll present candidate guides and voting records.
Throughout these page we present information to assist you in casting your vote and becoming more involved in the electoral process. But we don't - and won't - tell you how to vote. That decision is up to you.
